This article give the reader an detailed outline of what NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) entails and also touches on past trade relationships with the United States and the advantages. This will allow me to inform the reader about previous trade agreements with the us and the advantages Canadians saw from this, such as lower cost in farming equipment for, and a increase in the export of raw materials. The article is particularly unbiased as it also touches on the down side to NAFTA and what people were afraid NAFTA would do to their cultural sovereignty. The article also points out that Canada’s Gross Domestic Product has increased 3.4 percent per year between 1993 and 2003, and of the more social aspects of NAFTA. mentions the creation of the NAALC to set out common guidelines to govern the treatment of workers in each country.
